It costs almost £5000 a day to maintain this magnificent building that hosts so many daily services and great festivals, musical and cultural events, and educational activities open to all.
This great medieval Cathedral has existed for a thousand years, and it’s easy to take its future for granted. But we’re largely self-funded and receive only limited support from the State and Church to support our buildings or activities.
Whether you value this Cathedral as a place of Christian worship, for its magnificent music or its special place in England’s history, or simply as a great place to rest and reflect, you too can help secure its future.
How can I help?
There are so many ways you can show your practical support, and you don’t need to be a practising Christian to do so:
Make a regular donation through one of our stewardship schemes. Setting up a standing order or joining the envelope scheme are a great way to support this amazing place. Please contact our Finance Team on 01634 810068 for a form and further information.
Make a one off donation – Whether you light a candle when you visit, put £1 in the collection plate at the Christmas carol service, make a donation or leave us a gift in your will, your contribution counts.
