Choirs at Rochester Cathedral

There are three choirs at Rochester Cathedral. The Cathedral Choir consisting of a mixture of choristers and Lay Clerks sing at the majority of our services. Our Voluntary Choir is an auditioned amateur choir who support the Cathedral by singing at some services throughout the year. We also have our Children’s Choir which is free to join and open to all aged 7 – 13 who enjoy singing.

Cathedral Choir

Rochester Cathedral Choir sings for the daily round of services during school term-times (with the exception of Wednesdays and Saturdays), as well as during the periods of Christmas and Easter. It comprises of choristers and lay clerks.

Voluntary Choir

The Voluntary Choir consists of a pool of around 30 experienced adult singers who supplement the work of the Cathedral Choir by singing on various occasions throughout the year.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir is for any boy or girl aged 7–13 in the Medway area who loves singing. The choir is free to join and there are no auditions.
